Information Service of MERRY CHRISTMAS AT VRACAR In spite of all the troubles and temptations which inevitably accompany every people in the period of transition, the Serbian people will this year celebrate the feast of the Nativity our Lord Jesus Christ more joyously and more beautifully than in previous years, even decades, since the wish of many generations – to hear the ringing of 49 bells from St. Sava’s Memorial Church – is going to come true on Christmas, at 00:00, when Patriarch Pavle is going to serve the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy. The happiness is even greater since it is rather probable that by the end of 2004, on the 200th anniversary of the First Serbian Uprising, the Memorial will have been finished. The works on the crypt are nearing the end, which also signifies the end of all the construction works. Therefore, we invite the inhabitants of Belgrade, as well as all of those who happen to be in the Serbian capital on the night of the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, to gather together and celebrate the feast of Christmas, together with His Holiness Patriarch Pavle, praying to Infant God for the benefit and progress of all and everything under the Serbian skies. |
