Information Service of PATRON FEAST OF PATRIARCHATE CHAPEL Today, on the feast of Saint Simeon the Myrrhflowing, His Holiness Pavle, Serbian Patriarch, served with Belgrade priests and deacons, and in the presence of numerous faithful of the capital, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Patriarchate Chapel in Belgrade dedicated to this Saint. In the speech after the Liturgy, His Holiness reminded of the merits of Saint Simeon, Stefan Nemanja, the founder of the Serbian medieval state, and of the period when Serbia was formed. On the other side His Holiness also underlined the present circumstances in which the Serbs are once again on the turning point trying to protect themselves, to remain and survive as the people of God - always as humans, never as inhuman beings. Having cut the slava cake, Patriarch congratulated the feast to the faithful, and afterwards the people present were served with food. |
