STATEMENT OF THE HOLY SYNOD OF BISHOPS OF
THE SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH REGARDING
THE PROTECTION OF SPIRITUAL AND INTELECTUAL
VALUES AND PROPERTIES OF THE SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH

The Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church has informed the authorised state organs of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and hereby it informs the Yugoslav public, that the Serbian Orthodox Church has the exclusive rights to:

• the names of the Saints of the Serbian Orthodox Church and all their images;
• the names and the looks of all the churches and monasteries belonging to the Serbian Orthodox Church;
• all the church marks in connection either with its history or with the names of its saints or with the Serbian Orthodox Church in general;
• cultural values which are in its churches, monasteries or are in any way the part of its possession and represent its property.

The Serbian Orthodox Church is also the only holder of rights to the usage of words and expression relating to its clergy, its churches and monasteries, its marks and its cultural assets.

These rights could be used for commercial purposes only with the permit of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in the manner and under the conditions specified in the subject permit.

Interested legal and physical entities submit the applications for the usage of the mentioned rights only to the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church - Belgrade, Kralja Petra 5.
