Information Service of TALKS BETWEEN THE COMMISSIONS OF THE SERBIAN Official talks between the Commissions of the Serbian and the Macedonian Orthodox Churches about the possible solution for the problematic issue of the canonical status of the Church in Macedonia were resumed in the Bishop's Palace in Nis, on May 17, 2002. The Commission of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church comprised: His Eminence Amfilohije - Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral and Their Graces Irinej - Bishop of Nis, Irinej - Bishop of Backa and Pahomije - Bishop of Vranje. The Commission of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Macedonian Orthodox Church included: Their Eminences Petar - Metropolitan of Australia/New Zealand, Timotej - Metropolitan of Debar/Kicevo and Naum - Metropolitan of Strumica. Archpriest Predrag Puzovic, Th.D., and Archdeacon Ratomir Grozdanoski, Th.D., participated in the work of the two Commissions as consultants and secretaries. The talks were open and frank, full of understanding and fraternal love. A significant and meaningful progress was achieved as to finding ecclesiologically and canonically right, spiritually delivering solution acceptable for the Orthodox world. All the members of both Commissions express their true hope and belief that the solution is, with the help of God, at hand. |
