Information Service of BREATHING LIFE INTO SERBIA - PATRIARCH PAVLE DELIVERS FIRST INCUBATOR His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle, together with His Grace Bishop Pahomije of Vranje delivered the first incubator to the Institute for Neonatology in Belgrade. The Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in April 2001 decided to undertake a project titled, "BREATHING LIFE INTO SERBIA" through which one incubator would be donated to each maternity ward in Serbia. A concert was held on 10 May of this year in Belgrade at the Syndicate Center in Belgrade with the participation of many renown artists as the first of many in a series of undertakings. Benefactors were the Serbian Orthodox Parish of Trieste, Swisslions Company from Vrsac, the Serbian Cultural Society from Geneva, the Agrana Company from Belgrade, Adoc Export, and Don Trade from Belgrade. Medicina TS from Belgrade, which produces neonatal incubators, became a great benefactor. The following day, 7 June, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa will deliver an incubator to the Institute for Neonatology in Novi Sad. According to designation of the Serbian Orthodox Church Parish in Trieste, one incubator will be delivered to the maternity ward in Pozarevac. The Holy Synod of Bishops has opened account No. 40802-743-0-2832 - "Udahnimo zivot Srbiji" - for "Breathing Life into Serbia" to accommodate the project, which will continue until 33 incubators have been purchased - one incubator for every maternity ward in Serbia.
