Information Service of DELEGATION FROM ITALY VISITS SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH A delegation of the Roman-Catholic Diocese of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla, Italy, headed by His Excellency Bishop Adriano Caprioli, visited the Serbian Orthodox Church in the period August 30 – September 4. The delegation consisted of five priests, two deacons, two nuns and four laymen. His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle received the Italian delegation together His Eminence Amfilohije, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, and His Grace Jovan, Bishop of Sumadija. Both parties expressed mutual wish that the Serbian Orthodox Church and Roman-Catholic Church in Italy cooperate and familiarise with each other on Evangelic basis. Monsignor Caprioli and his escort were the guests of the Archdiocese of Belgrade/Karlovci, Metropolitanate of Montenegro/the Littoral and the Diocese of Backa. They also visited the Faculty of Theology of the Serbian Orthodox Church and refugee camps where a largest number of Serbs exiled from Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo and Metochia still live in very bad conditions. On Sunday, September 1, the delegation attended the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Belgrade Cathedral served by His Grace Atanasije Vicar Bishop of Hvosno. Bishop Atanasije greeted the guest in the name of the clergy and of the Serbian people and wished them pleasant staying in Yugoslavia. |
