CONDOLENCES ON THE OCCASION OF DEATH
OF HIS GRACE STEFAN, BISHOP OF ZICA

His Holiness Pavle Serbian Patriarch and the Holy Synod of Bishops received condolences from a great number of people and institutions from Serbia on the occasion of Bishop Stefan’s passing away. Dr Vojislav Kostunica, President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, among other things says: “Please, do receive my deepest condolences for the departure of His Grace Stefan, Bishop of Zica. He will sure be remembered for his diligence, personal zealousness and mildness. May God rest his soul in the fair settlement of the righteous ones...”

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Alexander writes: “I am very touched by the news that His Grace Bishop Stefan of Zica passed away. This is a great loss for our Holy Church and for the Orthodox world as a whole”.

Chief of Staff of the Yugoslav Army, General Branko Krga, says that he received the news of the departure His Grace Stefan, Bishop of Zica, with great sorrow.

The head of the Mission of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, priest Vitaly Tarasjev underlined in his letter of condolences to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle: “On the occasion of the passing away of His Grace Bishop Stefan of Zica We would like to express the most sincere condolences in the name of His Holiness Aleksey II – Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, episcopacy, priests, monastics and all the faithful of the Russian Orthodox Church.”
