FESTIVE ACTIVITIES ON THE OCCASION OF SAINT SAVA’S FEAST

His Grace Bishop of Backa Irinej visited a primary school Saint Sava in Backa Palanka and consecrated an icon (relief) of Saint Sava posted at the entrance into the school, whereupon he cut the feast cake. Bishop Irinej congratulated the school day to all the pupils, teachers and the headmaster, Ms. Natasa Djurica, who underlined the significance of Saint Sava for Serbian education, science and culture, especially for young generations.

Bishop Irinej then visited the school premises, and learned of the pupils’ work and activities. This school surely sets an example by its system of upbringing, order and cleanness.

That same day, His Grace Irinej consecrated the building of the secondary level mechanical engineering school in Novi Sad and presented hierarchal gratitude charter to this school, as a sign of thankfulness for the aid that the pupils of this school rendered when tidying the Church of Saint George.
