AND ZICA Many people know much about Nikolaj, but no one knows everything, since Nikolaj as Christ-bearer and Lord-bearer permeates all his deeds, all his words, his every particular action; yet he surpasses all his deeds and abundantly effuses all his words, both written and oral ones. He is noninculsive and unclassifiable in our human notions, words, expressions...There is more of him outside everything said or written about him and by him. Personality of any man, especially a Saint one, creates deeds of unsurpassable value, but is never just in those deeds. Nikolaj came into this Godly world in the dawn of December 23 (per old, Julian calendar) 1880, on the feast of St. Naum of Ohrid. He was born in a little yet “Lord’s village of Lelic” as he himself called it, near Valjevo, on the slopes of the Povlen mountain. His parents Dragomir and Katarina were simple peasants, but good and fair people and devout Orthodox Christians, especially his mother. Soon upon the child’s birth, the parents baptise their first and rather feeble son, naming him Nikola.
