On May 20, 2003, exhibition of photographs called “Crucified
Kosovo” presenting the destruction of Serbian shrines in Kosovo and Metochia was opened
in the atrium of the National Museum in Belgrade.
This exhibition has already been staged in many European cities where
it aroused significant interest.
Such presenting of tragical events in the region of Kosovo and Metochia
is one of the ways to inform the world public of the continual jeopardy of our cultural
and spiritual heritage which is an integral part of the European cultural heritage.
The photos show vandalism, cultural genocide and eradication of any
sign of the Serbian existence and life in this region. Shrines set on fire, annihilated
churches, destroyed graveyards...such pictures leave no one indifferent.
