METROPOLITAN AMFILOHIJE IN KOSOVO
AND METOHIJA
His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral
served Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in Visoki Decani Monastery in
Metohija yesterday, Wednesday, July 20, 2005 with the concelebration
of His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan, the abbot of Decani
Monastery, and the brethren of this Holy Family.
During the course of the day His Eminence visited the Serb returnees
to the village of Ljevosa near the Pec Patriarchate. Today, Thursday,
July 21, 2005, he continued his tour of Serb returnees to Kosovo
and Metohija, visiting the villages of Brestovik and Siga near
Pec. On that occasion Metropolitan Amfilohije presented the returnees
with symbolic humanitarian aid in addition to his archpastoral
blessing and wish that they persist and succeed in their return
effort.
In the afternoon Metropolitan Amfilohije met with the commander
of German KFOR troops in this sector, Brigadier General Norbert
Stier. During the conversation they discussed the returnees to
Kosovo and Metohija and their survival, and KFOR’s responsibility
to provide them with security and a normal life in this region.
Tomorrow, Friday, July 22, 2005 Metropolitan Amfilohije will
serve Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Pec Patriarchate on the
occasion of the feast of St. Prokopios the Great Martyr.
Today is the thirty-seventh anniversary of the ordination of
His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral
to the office of hieromonk.
