OFFICIAL DELEGATION OF THE SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH'S HOLY SYNOD OF BISHOPS TO VISIT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

With the blessing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle, the official delegation of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church departed on March 13, 2006 to the United States of America. The delegation is exprcted to meet with senior representatives of the U.S. administraton and the United Nations, and the main topic of the discussions will be Kosovo and Metohija.

The delegation is comprised of His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija, a member of the Holy Synod of Bishops and the head of the delegation; His Grace Bishop Grigorije of Zahumlje and Hercegovina, a member of the advisory body of the Office of the Kosovo and Metohija Committee; His Grace Vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan, the vice-chairman of the Kosovo and Metohija Committee and the abbot of Visoki Decani Monastery; Rev. Fr. Irinej Dobrijevic, consultant to the Holy Synod of Bishops on international and inter-religious issues and head of the Office of the Kosovo and Metohija Committee; Prof. Dr. Bogoljub Sijakovic, vice dean of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of the University of Belgrade; Mr. Andrew Verich, director of the office of the Serbian Unity Congress in Washington, D.C.; and Mr. Miroslav Starovlah, the secretary of the delegation.

The Serbian public will be duly informed regarding the results of these meeting of the Serbian Orthodox Church delegation in the U.S.A.
