UNVEILING
OF PUPIN BUST AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, NEW YORK
In
celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Michael
Pupin – the great Serbian scientist and inventor, the Columbia
University Physics Department will be unveiling the Pupin Bust
on May 21, 2004, at 3 pm in Pupin Hall, Columbia University,
New York. The bust is the work of the world famous sculptor
Ivan Mestrovic. A copy of this bust is located in the courtyard
of St. Sava Cathedral in Manhattan.
At
4 PM – showing of the “From Immigrant to Inventor”, about the
life and times of Michael I. Pupin, produced by the Tesla Memorial
Society of New York in collaboration with Columbia University.
Author of the film is Dr Ljubo Vujovic. The film duration is
50 minutes (www.teslasociety.org).
PROMOTION
OF THE BOOK "DANCING ALONE" BY AUTHOR FRANK
SCHAEFFER
A
promotion of the book "Igrati Sam" (Dancing Alone)
by author Frank Schaeffer will be held on Wednesday, May 19,
2004, at 7:00 p.m. in the amphitheater of the Theological Faculty
of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, Mije Kovacevica Street
11 b.
The publishers of the book are the monastery of Tvrdos (Vidoslov)
and the Brotherhood of St. Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher. Speaking
at the promotion will be His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije
of Montenegro and the Littoral, His Grace Bishop Grigorije of
Zahumlje and Herzegovina and professor Dr. Bogoljub Sijakovic.
LET US SING WITH LOVE A documentary film regarding the origin and building of St.
Sava Memorial Cathedral in Vracar (Belgrade) will be shown on
Friday, May 21, 2004, at 6:30 p.m. in Princess Ljubica's Residence.
The film was produced by the BK Academy of Arts with the concurrence
of the Holy Assembly of Bishops. The screenwriter and director
is Moma Martinovic.
