HIS HOLINESS RUSSIAN PATRIARCH ALEXEY RECEIVES
500 SERB CHILDREN FROM KOSOVO AND METOHIJA
His Holiness Patriarch Alexey II of Moscow and All-Russia received
a group of 500 Serb children from Kosovo and Metohija in the
great hall of the church of Christ the Savior. The children will
be resting, recuperating and receiving necessary medical treatment
in the Moskovskaya, Kostromskaya, Tverskaya, Yaroslavskaya, Pskovskaya
and Nizhegorodskaya districts.
Many of these boys and girls, aged 9 to 14 years, are orphans
whose parents have been killed by Albanian terrorists.
This humanitarian program of assistance to the Serb children
of Kosovo and Metohija is being conducted upon the initiative
of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called Fund and the Russian
Center for National Glory.
Many regional centers, banks and factories in Russia took part
in the preparation, organization and financing of the Children
of Kosovo program.

ECUMENICAL PATRIARCH RECEIVES CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II KARADJORDJEVIC
AND PRINCESS KATHERINE
Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II Karadjordjevic
and Princess Katherine accepted an invitation by His All-Holiness
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to visit him in Constantinople.
His All-Holiness extended the invitation during a recent visit
to Belgrade on the occasion of the celebration of the Bicentennial
of the First Serbian Uprising and completion of St. Sava Memorial
Cathedral in Belgrade.
Crown Prince Alexander II Karadjordjevic and Princess Katherine
met with Patriarch Bartholomew in the Constantinople Patriarchate
where a formal luncheon was held in their honor. On that occasion
His All-Holiness expressed his satisfaction with his Belgrade
visit and meeting with His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Pavle.
During the course of a warm conversation, Patriarch Bartholomew
said he was impressed by everything done thus far on St. Sava
Cathedral.

STUDENTS FOR CHILANDAR
The Association of Students of the Faculty of Philosophy, in
cooperation with the St. Justin the Philosopher Society and other
student organizations, made a monetary donation toward the restoration
of Chilandar Monastery collected during their Students for Chilandar
campaign. This campaign was launched immediately after the fire
and lasted until March 17, 2004 when it had to be interrupted
following the violence in Kosovo and Metohija.
