METOHIJA As
we have already written, a group of 520 children between
the ages of 9 and 14 from Kosovo and Metohija are visiting
Russia
from June 2-23, 2004. The children have been placed in children’s
resorts in the Moskovskaya, Kostromskaya, Tverskaya, Yaroslavskaya,
Pskovskaya and Nizhegorodskaya districts. The “Children of Kosovo”
program was organized with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch

Fund and the Center for Russian National Glory Fund. In the assembly
hall of the church of Christ the Savior in Moscow a formal concert
of music was also prepared for the children with participation
of many choirs and the Moscow Puppet Theater. Patriarch Alexey
honored the children by his presence at the concert, welcoming
them and presenting them with the Serbian language edition of
the “Children’s Bible” and other gifts. Among the many guests
present at the concert were Metropolitan Kliment; Mr. Milan Rocen,
the Serbia and Montenegro ambassador in Russia; Archimandrite
Antonije (Pantelic), the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church

the second Sunday after Holy Pentecost, June 13, 2004, in
the city of Helsingborg in the south of Sweden, His Grace Bishop
Dositej of Britain and Scandinavia served Holy Archierchal Liturgy
and on that occasion consecrated the new bells. Bishop Dositej’s
concelebrants included Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Radmilo Stokic,
parish priest from Denmark; Protosyncellus Metodije Lazic, Protopresbyter
Dragan Predic, the senior priest from Helsingborg, and Deacon
Velisa Vasic from Stockholm. The most deserving distinguished
by church recognitions for their efforts toward the construction
of the new bell tower were Mr. Andrija Asanin, Mr. Pavle Kovacevic
and Mr. Miljko Milosavljevic. Bishop Dositej emphasized in his
sermon that this is the first church in Scandinavia with three
bells and that from now on their peals would call the faithful
to pray to the Lord God and St. Basil the Great, the protector
of this church and parish. Holy Liturgy was attended by a large
number of faithful from Helsingborg, Malme and Copenhagen.
