PATRIARCH PAVLE APPEALS FOR PROTECTION
OF KARADZIC FAMILY
As the spiritual father and pastor of all the Christian souls
that God has entrusted to me for my care and guardianship, it
is my duty to warn the powerful foreign factors, who I also believe
are Christians, that an entire family cannot and must not be
blackmailed, abused and punished because of accusations against
one of its members. Of course, I am referring to the immediate
family of Dr. Radovan Karadzic, whose wife Ljiljana, daughter
Sonja and son Aleksandar have been subjected to lengthy disturbance,
mistreatment, illegal deprivation of freedom and even threats
to their very existence. In the spirit of the Christian compassion
and philanthropy given to us by God, we most adamantly plead
that this violence against the members of the family of Dr. Radovan
Karadzic cease immediately.
