METROPOLITAN AMFILOHIJE VISITS
ARCHBISHOP ANTONIO
OF KRASNOYAR
Yesterday His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro
and the Littoral began an extended visit to His Eminence Archbishop
Antonios of Krasnoyar and Eniseya as part of the “Days of Serbia
and Montenegro Spirituality and Culture” event.
The event began with Holy Hierarchal Liturgy served by the two
hierarchs in the church of the Holy Trinity in Krasnoyar. After
Liturgy, Metropolitan Amfilohije was accompanied by his host
to the renowned chapel of the Holy Great-Martyr Paraskeva, protectress
of Krasnoyar, and to the church of Holy Father Nikolai, build
in memory of the victims of repression throughout the ages. Metropolitan
Amfilohije also visited the famous Parade Square on the banks
of the Eniseya River.
At a formal dinner held in his honor last night, Metropolitan
Amfilohije spoke with the governor of the district of Krasnoyar
Aleksandr Hlaponyin, whom he presented with small gifts and invited
to visit Montenegro.
This morning Metropolitan Amfilohije visited cathedral of the
Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos in Krasnoyar and then,
upon the invitation of the rector of the Krasnoyar Pedagogical
University, he gave a lecture to the professors and students
of this institution of higher learning on the theme “Man – Bearer
of eternal life”.
Metropolitan Amfilohije and his host Archbishop Antonije, who
visited the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral last
year, then visited the renowned Krasnoyar Museum of Paleontology,
Ethnology and Arts, one of the most well known museums in Russia.
This evening the two hierarchs will attend a formal vigil in
honor of tomorrow’s feast of the Elevation of the Holy Cross
in the city of Lesosibirsk, and tomorrow on the day of the feast
they will serve Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in this city.

LECTURE OF METROPOLITAN NIKOLAJ OF DABRO-BOSNIA On Wednesday, September 23, 2005, His Eminence Metropolitan
Nikolaj of Dabro-Bosnia gave a lecture “To Serbian Youth” as
part of the “Spiritual public forum – Orthodox conversations”
of the Christian Cultural Center in Sarajevo.
During the lecture, which was given in St. Tekla Hall in the
Old Sarajevo Church, about the great tasks before Serbian youth,
Metropolitan Nikolaj emphasized that every young person derives
life and spiritual strength for his or her growth, training and
spiritual strength from three pillars or churches: the church
of birth – the family, the church of consecration – the Church,
and the church of learning – school.

PATRONAL FEAST IN BRIBIR On the feast of Sts. Joakim and Ana, September 22, 2005, His
Grace Bishop Fotije of Dalmatia served Holy Hierarchal Liturgy
in Bribir on the day of its patronal feast.
Bishop Fotije wished the gathered faithful a happy patronal
feast and in his homily, he expressed great joy at the restoration
of this parish church dedicated to holy and righteous Joakim
and Ana. Bishop Fotije emphasized that through such acts of effort
and love, the Serbs living here can remain the faithful guardians
of Orthodox tradition.

RADIO SVETIGORA’S “LIVE WIRE” RECEIVES AWARD AT INTERNATIONAL
FESTIVAL IN SOMBOR At the tenth international Festival of Reporting, which concluded
yesterday in Sombor, in competition with reporters from at home
and abroad, a feature report by Radio Svetigora’s “Live Wire”
received a bronze plaque.
The documentary story of Professor Dr. Cedomir Vukmanovic, recorded
on the tape recorder of journalist Zoran Grgurevic, is a shocking
testimony of the suffering of flight from Montenegro, Old Raska
and Herzegovina in Slovenia during May 1945.
Dr. Cedomir Vukmanovic, a living witness of this suffering,
is the son of priest-martyr Luka Vukmanovic Crmnicki who perished
in during the flight together with one hundred priests of the
Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral.
The author of the feature report, Zoran Grgurevic, is one of
the editors of Radio Svetigora. He has been a journalist since
1972. He has received a number of awards for his radio work in
the former Yugoslavia.

PRESS CONFERENCE OF ANDREI VOZNESENSKY REGARDING THE
THREE-HANDED THEOTOKOS LITERARY AWARD
The celebrated Russian poet Andrei Voznesensky, the laureate
of the Three-Handed Theotokos International Literary Award presented
by the Ivanka Milosevic Foundation from Chicago, will hold a
media conference in the Serbian Writers’ Association on Wednesday,
September 28, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.
The Three-Handed Theotokos, the first literary award of the
Orthodox world, was presented this year to two literary creators:
Mr. Andrei Voznesensky for 2004 and Metropolitan Amfilohije of
Montenegro and the Littoral for 2005.
The awards will be presented at a Formal Academy in the Atrium
of the Serbian National Museum in Belgrade on Thursday, September
29, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.
We invite all representatives of the media in Serbia to attend
these events.
