NEW BELLS FOR CHURCH IN SMILJAN

This year is the 150-year anniversary of the birth of Nikola Tesla and many activities are being held in commemoration of this important milestone. Some of them include the restoration of the parish home in which Tesla was born, as well as the restoration of the church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, where his father, Milutin, who was an Orthodox priest, served.

The Serbian Power Company (Elektroprivreda Srbije) headed by Mr. Momcilo Cebalovic has donated two bells for the use by this church . They were received in Belgrade from the bell manufacturer Popovic by His Grace Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac.

The Bishop expressed his thanks to the Serbian Power Company for their gift, which will ring from the apostolic church in Smiljan for decades, honoring the greatness of the Serb Nikola Tesla, and calling on all Serbs to give thanks to God and to unity.
