Patronal feast celebrated at the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation in Damascus
On 11 February 2018, Sunday of the Last Judgment and commemoration day of the translation of the relics of the Holy Hieromartyr Ignatius the God-Bearer, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the church of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Representation in Damascus, consecrated in honour of this saint, first bishop of Antioch. Officiating at the divine service was Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of the Great Antioch and All the East.
Among those who prayed at the Liturgy was Bishop Moussa of Daraya, vicar of His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch.
After the service that brought together the faithful of the Orthodox Churches of Antioch and Russia, Bishop Moussa greeted the worshippers and conveyed to them a blessing from the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Antioch. The archpastor also congratulated Hegumen Arseny and the Russian flock on the resumption of regular divine services at the Representation.
