Indian Orthodox faithful Dr. Cherian Eapen Honored by the Russian Orthodox Church
Dr. Cherian Eapen a faithful of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church was honored with the award of Sergei Radonezh – first degree by His Holiness Kiril- Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia. Dr Cherian Eapen was given the award for his work among the homeless children in Russia. He is the first foreigner to receive the great honor. The award was granted after the Divine Liturgy on the feast of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos (at the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God) of the Pokrovsky Stauropegial Convent, in the village of Markovo, Ramensky District, Moscow Region.
Dr. Cherian was a close associate of Metropolitan Paulose Mar Gregorios (Gregory of the East) and he is the founder and president of the Roy’s International Children’s Foundation.
