Family Day celebrated in Russian church in Belgrade
His Grace Bishop Stefan of Remesiana officitaed the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Russian church of Holy Trinity in Belgrade on 8 July 2019.
The Day of family, love and fidelity began to be marked five centuries ago in an ancient Russian town of Murom; officially as the Russian holiday was established ten years ago and was solemnly celebrated in cities throughout Russia.
The Russian House in Belgrade with support of the Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church to Belgrade and the Serbian Orthodox Church, marked the holiday of family in Serbia. Faithful people from Belgrade and other cities, as well as guests from Russia and other countries who are in our country, came in early morning hours to welcome bishop of the Serbian Orthodox CHurch who, with a blessing of His Holiness Irinej, officiated the solemn Liturgy. The Bishop Stefan of Remesiana was concelebrated by clergy of the church of Holy Trinity and the host archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev as well as other priests from the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The Liturgucal gathering was attended by Denis Kuznedelyev, Charge d'Affaires, and Yevgeny Dyomin, Deputy Director of the Russian House in Belgrade.
The awarding of medals to those who have been married for more than twenty years was organized in the evening of the same day at 7 pm in the Russian House.
