Divine Liturgy for Saints Constantine and Helen at Ecumenical Patriarchate

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presided over the Divine Liturgy this morning at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Saint Georgios on the Feast of Saints Constantine and Helen.

The Divine Liturgy took place behind closed doors without the participation of faithful due to the COVID-19 restrictive measures.

Afterward, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew went to the Monastery of the Mother of God at the Spring, where he performed the Trisagion Service for his predecessor, late Patriarch Constantine VI, and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

It is recalled that late Patriarch Constantine remained the Head of the Patriarchal Throne for only forty-three days, from 1924 until 1925, before being forced to leave the city of Constantinople to finally settle in Nea Filadelfia, in Athens, until his falling asleep in the Lord.
