The Virgin Mary of Kykkos was honored by the Greek Brotherhood in Cyprus

Two great events that connect the Egyptian Hellenism were honored by the Greek Brotherhood of Cypriots in Alexandria.

In the Community sanctuary of the Annunciation of the Virgin of the Greek Community of Alexandria, which is one of the largest Greek Orthodox churches in Africa, the Cypriots of Egypt celebrated the great feast of The Theotokos of Kykkos, who is also the patron saint of the historic parochial community of Egypt.

At the same time, with the Patriarchal Commissioner of Alexandria and the Metropolitan Narcissus of Naukratida giving their blessings, the annual memorial service was held for the blessed Patriarch Peter VII of Alexandria who died tragically on September 11, 2004 on the fall of the fatal Chinook in the sea area near Mount Athos.

The Metropolitan of Naukratida, conveying the wishes and paternal blessings of the Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, who is currently in Cyprus, spoke about the offer of the Blessed Patriarch Peter VII “and all the goods that he made, from which we take the example of the Church of the Alexandrians.”

“Eternal is the memory of honor for the blessed Patriarch Petros and a tribute to Cyprus”, stressed Narcissus from the pulpit, who officiated the service along with the Chief Secretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, Archimandrite Fr. Nikodimos Totkas. The Metropolitan pointed out that peace will prevail in the Mediterranean, with the intercessions of the Virgin Mary being a “weapon of peace, an invincible trophy”.
