Jerusalem: Patronal Feast in the Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky
On Sunday November 23/December 6, 2020, the Chief of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, Archimandrite Roman (Krassovsky), celebrated Divine Liturgy in the Church of St Alexander Nevsky, the house church of the “Orthodox Palestinian Society” at the Russian "Excavations."
On the eve of the feast-day, all-night vigil was performed. The choir sang under the direction of Gethsemane's Nun Alexandra. In the morning after the rite of the “small blessing of water”, the Chief of the Mission was solemnly greeted at the entrance of the church. The Archimandrite was co-served by priest Fr Roman Gultiaev and Deacon Fr Vyacheslav Batalsky. The choir was directed by Nun Justina. After the celebration of Divine Liturgy, a moleben was served in honor of St Alexander Nevsky. After the divine services, the sisters of the podvorie offered the pilgrims a festive meal.
