Serbian Women's Auxiliary Of St. Sava Monastery In Libertyville
The Serbian Women’s Auxiliary of St. Sava Monastery, with the approval and under the direction of His Eminence of blessed memory + Metropolitan Christopher, was established in December of 2009, with the purpose of helping to sustain the St. Sava Monastery church and St. Sava camp program. At the annual Assembly of Bishops convention held in May of 2011, the St. Sava Monastery was elevated to a Stavropigial institution, directly under the supervision of His Holiness Patriarch Irinej.
His Holiness Patriarch Irinej met with members of the Executive Board of the Women’s Auxiliary on December 6, 2011. He blessed the work of the Auxiliary and suggested that the organization rename itself as the Myrrhbearing Women of the Stravropigial St. Sava Monastery-Mother Anastasia.
Currently the membership consists of approximately 90 women residing throughout the United States and Canada. All Orthodox women who would like to support the St. Sava Serbian Monastery are encouraged to join the organization by submitting the attached application form and annual membership fee of $25.00. As the only women’s organization devoted to helping the monastery and camp program, we welcome you to join and to continue the legacy left by +Bishop Mardarije and all of our ancestors who envisioned the need for a spiritual center for all future Serbian generations to enjoy.
