Parish Slava Celebration in Boise
On Sunday of Antipasha, a small parish community in Boise, celebrated its Parish Slava – The Holy Resurrection of Christ. Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace, Bishop Maxim, with concelebrating priests: Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes, presbyter Milan Dragovic, with many people from the Greek Parish and the Church of St Archangel Michael from Salt Lake City.
At the end of Divine Liturgy, after breaking Slava’s bread, bishop Maxim gave a very valuable gift to Fr Nektarios, who is a great friend of Serbian people at Kosovo and Metohija – a monograph, “The Cristian Heritage of Kosovo and Metohija”. Bishop Maxim, also, thrilled and delighted the children with his famous “candy rain”!
The family Ostojic, Nikica, Gordana and Luka, this year’s hosts and other members of the Parish community, organized a delicious Slava lunch.
With pleasure and delight of all, celebration was enriched by the recitation of children and by the playing and singing members of the ChurchFolkloreEnsemble “Rastko” from Salt Lake City Parish. The magnificent Slava celebrationeven more strengthened the friendship between the Serbian and Greek parishes. We give gratitude for many years of hospitality in the Sts Constantine and Helen Church in Boise.
After the celebration, Bishop Maksim visited HolyArchangel Michael Parish in Salt Lake Citywhere he met the members of the Church Council. In a brief meeting, theypresented all current aspects of life and activities of the Parish.
