On Thursday October 27, (Ven. Mother Paraskeva – St. Petka) Serbian government and military officials visited St. Stevan of Decani, Serbian Orthodox Church in Columbus Ohio. The parish priest Fr. Isak Kisin welcomed the Serbian delegationas as they arrived with their hosts the National Guard of Ohio. During the tour of the Church and the grounds, Fr. Isak spoke about the history of the Church and its people. The visitors were very interested to learn about the history of the Church and the Serbian emigrants that came to these regions and established the Church. At the conclusion of the visit; Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Jovica Draganic presented Fr. Isak with an icon of our Lord Jesus Christ and Fr. Isak presented all the members of delegation with Orthodox books and prayer ropes. Just a few years ago this Serbian Church in Columbus had a similar visit by the Chief of Serbian Armed Forces General Staff Gen. Ljubisa Dikovic and his delegation.
In both visits the very first request of the Serbian Delegation to their hosts; National Guard of Ohio, was to visit the Serbian Orthodox Church in Columbus. Glory to God for everything!
