On Sunday, March 5th, 2017 Orthodox clergymen, together with their faithful flocks, gathered together at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lorain, Ohio to celebrate the victory over iconoclasm - also known as "Triumph of Orthodoxy".

The morning started with the welcoming of His Eminence Metropolitan Savas of Pittsburgh (Greek Archdiocese of America), who together with all clergy present began the morning with Matins. Joining His Eminence were parishioners from St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Lorain along with their pastor, Rev. Fr. Sinisa Hrvacevic. Also in attendance were a number of clergy from a variety of jurisdictions, including priests from Greek, Carpatho-Russian, and Ukrainian churches.

During His heartwarming homily, Metropolitan Sava pointed to importance of our Orthodox unity and presented the history and background of Seventh Ecumenical Council in Nicaea in 787. After the Holy Liturgy, and a procession around the church with holy icons, His Eminence tonsured two altar boy from St. Nicholas parish into rank of readers, which was yet another event that made this day truly Holy and unforgettable for all present.

Lenten luncheon was served after as Agape of love by St. Nicholas parish. Special thanks to His Grace, our Bishop Irinej, for encouraging our clergy and faithful to be present with all other orthodox brothers and sisters in our communities - for truly we are One, Holy, Orthodox Church and family!
