Cleveland Deanery celebrates Bright Monday in Akron
With the Blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej, on April 17, 2017, priests from the Cleveland Deanery gathered at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Akron, Ohio to joyfully concelebrate the Paschal Divine Liturgy of Bright Monday. This event was the culmination of the fellowship established during the period of Great Lent, where priests gathered many times throughout the week as part of their Lenten growth and discipline.
The joyous celebration began with Divine Liturgy at 10am, with the Rev. Presbyter Dragan Goronjic of Holy Trinity in Youngstown, Episcopal Dean, presiding. Concelebrating priests included the Ven. Protosindjel Sava (Medakovic) from New Marcha Monastery in Richfield; Rev. Presbyter Aleksa Pavichevich from St. George in North Canton; and Rev. Presbyter Bosko Stojanovic from Holy Trinity in Youngstown. The Very Rev. Protopresbyter Milan Pajic, host-priest, joined the faithful parishioners in singing responses.
Immediately following services, all present gathered in the parish hall to enjoy the hospitality of the St. Archangel Michael community. Enjoying the feast together, priest and parishioner alike enjoyed roasted lamb, sarma, gibanica, ruska salata and more. It was a joyous event!
