SUNDAY OF THE LAST JUDGMENT (MEAT-FARE); TRANSFER OF THE RELICS OF THE HOLY HIEROMARTYR IGNATIUS THE GOD-BEARER

RESURRECTIONAL TROPARION - TONE THREE:
Let the heavens rejoice! Let the earth be glad! For the Lord has shown strength with His arm! He has trampled down death by death! He has become the firstborn of the dead! He has delivered us from the depths of hell, and has given to the world great mercy!

TROPARION TO SAINT IGNATIUS - TONE FOUR:
By sharing in the ways of the Apostles, you became a successor to their throne. Through the practice of virtue, you have found the way to the divine contemplation, O inspired one of God; By teaching the word of truth without error, you defended the Faith, even to the shedding of your blood. Hieromartyr Ignatius, entreat Christ God to save our souls.

RESURRECTIONAL CONTACTS - TONE THREE:
On this day you rose from the tomb, O Merciful One, leading us from the gates of death. On this day Adam exults as Eve rejoices; with the prophets and the patriarchs they unceasingly praise the divine majesty of Your power!

CONTACT TO SAINT IGNATIUS - TONE FOUR:
Today you rose from the east, enlightening all of creation with your teachings, and you are crowned with martyrdom, God-bearing Ignatius.

SUNDAY OF THE LAST JUDGMENT CONTACT - TONE ONE:
When You, O God, will come to earth with glory, all things will tremble and the river of fire will flow before Your judgment seat; the books will be opened and the hidden things disclosed. Deliver me then from the unquenchable fire and make me worthy to stand at your right hand, O Righteous Judge.

EPISTLE READING

THE PROKEIMENON IN TONE THREE:
Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.

SUNDAY OF THE LAST JUDGMENT: 1 CORINTHIANS 8: 8 - 9: 2
Brethren, food does not commend us to God; For neither if we eat, we are better, nor if we eat not we are the worse. But beware if somehow this freedom of yours becomes a stumbling block for those who are weak. For if anyone sees you who is eating in a idol's temple, will not the conscience of the one who is weak be encouraged to eat the things offered to the idols? And because of your knowledge will the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? But when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you are a son against Christ. Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never eat again meat, let alone make my brother stumble. Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you my work in the Lord? If I 'm not an apostle to others, I' m surely I am to you. For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.

THE ALLELUIA VERSES:
Come let us rejoice in the Lord! Let us make a joyful noise to God our Savior! Let us come before His face with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with psalms!

GOSPEL READING

SUNDAY OF THE LAST JUDGMENT: MATTHEW 25: 31-46
Jesus said, "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them from one another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying," Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see you a foreigner and take you in, or naked and clothe you? Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you? "And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, as you did to one of the least of these My brethren , you did it to Me. Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry, and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me '. Then they will answer Him, saying, "Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty, or stranger, naked or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You?" Then He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me. And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. "
