The ambassador of the USA in Cairo visited the Patriarchate of Alexandria

On 17th May 2021, the Ambassador of the USA to Cairo His Excellency Mr. Jonathan Cohen visited the See of the Patriarchate of Alexandria. Ambassador Cohen was welcomed by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, with whom they had wholehearted talks on, among other things, the role and the work of the Ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria on the African Continent.

With evident admiration Mr. Cohen congratulated His Beatitude on his work and service on the Continent of the future. Briefing the Ambassador, the Primate of Alexandria also expressed his gratitude to the Egyptian leadership and especially to President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, for the facility and assistance he provides, so that the Patriarchate can carry out its Mission without hindrance.

The Ambassador was then taken on a tour of the Patriarchate in which he showed intense interest in the wealth of the Archaeological Museum and the Patriarchal Library.

Present at the meeting was the Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria His Eminence Metropolitan Narcissus of Naucratis.
