Survey shows 64% of Russians trust Orthodox Church
13. Новембар 2017 - 14:20More than half of Russians trust in the Russian Orthodox Church, according to data from a recent survey from the Public Opinion Foundation, reports RIA-Novosti.
According to the survey, 64% of respondents consider themselves Orthodox, 8% Muslim, and 22% consider themselves unbelievers. Overall, 64% trust the Russian Orthodox Church, while 19% expressed their distrust. 51% expressed trust for Patriarch Kirill, and 21% distrust. In addition, 69% of respondents said their attitude towards the Russian Church has not changed in recent years, while 12% said their attitude has either improved or worsened.

His Beatitude Chrysostomos II celebrates his name day
13. Новембар 2017 - 13:55On 13 November 2017 His Beatitude Chrysostomos II, Archbishop of Nova Justiniana and All Cyprus, celebrates his name day.
He was born in Tala village, Paphos. At the age of 10 he lost his father and two years later, after finishing his elementary education, he joined the monastery of Ayios Neophytos in Paphos. He also attended Paphos Gymnasium, graduating in 1963. On 3 November, of the same year, he was ordained deacon by the Bishop of Trimithounda, Georgios.

Новембар 2017 - 9:15The Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity hosted the Annual Prayer Service for the United Nations Community presided by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and sponsored together by the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States and the Standing Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches.
Their Eminences Archbishop Demetrios and His Eminence Archbishop Khajag Barsamian of the Armenian Church of America, chairmen of the respective Conferences addressed the prayerful assemblage. His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America represented the Serbian Orthodox Church.
