On a chilly Saturday morning on October 2, 2010, a small group of our parishioners gathered at St. Andrews Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago in order to support the endeavors of IOCC (International Orthodox Christian Charities) humanitarian organization.

This year's 5K/Walk-Run, sponsored by Chicago relief committee, was a successful one. Over 200 participants from various Orthodox parishes took part in walking and running activities on a beautiful lakefront along Lake Shore Drive.
Since its inception in 1992, IOCC has provided over 300 million dollars in humanitarian relief and supported various development programs for needy Orthodox Christians throughout the World. Holy Resurrection Cathedral is in the process of establishing annual IOCC Awareness Day with the intention of educating its parishioners about ongoing initiatives and mission work of IOCC.
