Participation of Orthodox Women in the Ecumenical Movement

An inter-orthodox consultation was held at the Volos Academy for Theological Studies in Greece from June 8-12, under the title "Participation of Orthodox Women in the Ecumenical Movement: Past, Present, Future...And many were there...(Mt.27:55)".

The meeting was sponsored by the Program for Women in Church and Society of WCC and hosted by the Diocese of Dimitrias. Forty-five women from Eastern and Oriental Orthodox churches from 16 countries discussed the participation, ministry and concerns of Orthodox women in the Church and the Ecumenical Movement.
