In the period from October 23 to 26, 2020, His Grace Bishop Andrej of Austria-Switzerland performed an archpastoral visit to the missionary parish in Malta.

After a reception of Bishop Andrej in front of the Tal-Pilar Church in Valletta, an evening service was held, presided over by the priest Aleksandar Popescu from the Romanian Orthodox Church, together with the Maltese parish priest Risto Gorancic; a Russian church choir and a Romanian chanter sang responses.  The worship was attended by the priest George Mifsud from the Greek Catholic Church as well.

Biography of Metropolitan Amfilohije (Radovic)

Amfilohije was born Risto Radović (Ристо Радовић) in Bare Radovića in Lower Morača, Kingdom of Yugoslavia (now Montenegro).

He is a descendant of vojvoda Mina Radović who participated in the unification of the Morača region with the Principality of Montenegro in 1820. He studied at St. Sava Seminary and graduated from the Faculty of Theology in Belgrade in 1962. During his time as a seminarian in the late 1950s, Amfilohije knew the great theologian Justin Popović, who infklubnced his thought a great deal. He also studied classical philosophy at the University of Belgrade.

Patriarch Irinej and President Vucic visited the Church of Saint Sava

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej and the President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic visited the church of Saint Sava in the Vracar district of Belgrade. - I am glad that all citizens of Serbia and all the Serbs wherever they live will soon be able to come to the Church and see what generations of our ancestors and we  ourselves have managed to do together, President Vucic wrote on his Instagram account on October 22, 2020.

The Serbian Patriarch and the Minister of Health in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Dr. Zlatibor Loncar, called on all the citizens of Serbia to adhere to anti-epidemic measures during the next period, and during family patron saints celebrations, in order to preserve public health.

In an interview for “Politika” the Metropolitan of Zagreb and Ljubljana, Dr. Porfirije, said: Some individuals from the top of the Belgrade University administration have been constantly putting pressure on the administration and professors of the Orthodox Theological Faculty.

Patron Saint-day of the Bukovo Monastery

On the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, October 14, 2020, His Grace Bishop Ilarion of Timok served the Holy Liturgy in the side chapel of the Bukovo monastery.

The bishop was assisted by the clergy of the Diocese of Timok, while members of the choir of the Zajecar church sang responses. In addition to numerous believers, Dr. Mileta Radojevic, Head of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities of the Ministry of Justice of the Government of the Republic of Serb; Mr. Dragan Popovic, President of the Municipality of Majdanpek; and Mr. Vladimir Velickovic, President of the Municipality of Negotin attended prayerfully.

Consecrated foundations of a tower in the monastery of Rmanj

His Grace Bishop Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac blessed foundations of a tower which will be dedicated to Catherine Cantacuzino, the founder of the monastery, and that will include a chapel with a baptistery dedicated to the Holy Serbian Despotess Angelina Brankovic. The event took place on October 20, 2020, on the feast of the Holy Martyrs Sergius and Bacchus.

Protopresbyters staurophores Zdravko Bogojevic and Sasa Crljic aas well as archdeacon Nemanja Reljic concelebrated. The sponsor of the foundation of the building is Dr. Dragan Babic from Banja Luka.
