St. Basil of Ostrog - patron saint of the Theological Faculty in Foca

On May 12, 2020, the Orthodox Theological Faculty in Foča celebrated its patron Saint , St. Basi of Ostrog.

On this occasion, the Holy Liturgy was celebrated by the dean and vice deans of the Faculty, archpriests staurophors Vladislav Topalović, Nenad Tupeša and Darko Đogo, the rector of the Theological Seminary of St. Peter of Dabrar-Bosnia, protopriest Ljubomir Prijović and deacon Siniša Božić, in the church of St. Sava in Foča.

Metropolitan Amfilohije: We will obey the regulations, but we expect the state authorities to obey St Basil of Ostrog

His Eminence Amfilohije, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, being  a guest of a programme "Internet cross procession", said that the Church would obey the recommendations of National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases (NKT) during the days of celebrations of St. Basil of Ostrog, as it had done it  before, but that he would expect representatives of the state authorities and the police to obey  St. Basil as well.

Bells Across Pennsylvania Day

The Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association encouraged all residents and houses of worship to ring bells for three minutes at 7 p.m. on May 3, 2020, to recognize those on the frontlines battling COVID-19, to show solidarity with elected officials and governments in this effort, and to demonstrate resolve that we will prevail in this challenge. This effort draws on a long history of using bells to communicate across distances and to mark important events or times.
