The past weekend of 13th and 14th January 2018 at the St. Stephens Archdeacon and Protomartyr Serbian Orthodox Church in Portland, Oregon was very blessed.

 Our Diocesan Bishop His Grace Bishop Maxim visited our Portland parish to join and conduct the celebration of our Parish Slava, which began with a delicious lunch at the house of this year Slava sponsor Momcilo and Ruzica Djurdjevic who hosted our beloved Bishop Maxim. At the evening Fr. Vidoslav the host priest and Episcopal Dean of the Butte Deanery served the Vesper joined by His Grace Bp. Maxim and a lot of parishioners.

From December 11 to 19, 2017, Abbot Damascene of the St. Herman of Alaska Monastery in Platina, California, in the capacity of Episcopal Assistant of Missions, visited the mission communities of the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montana. He was accompanied on his trip by Alexey Selishchev, a postulant at the St. Herman Monastery.

With the blessing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, His Grace Bishop Antonije of Moravica, vicar Bishop of the Patriarch, officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Holy Great Martyr George in the Cukarica district of Belgrade.

The Bishop was concelebrated by protoprosbyter-staurophors Caslav Marinkovic and BrankoMitrovic, protopresbyter Vitomir Kostic and some other clergimen. After the rite of the Great blessing of water in the church itself, Bishop Antonije held a sermon.

The St. Sava Cathedral Community in Manhattan, as its Cathedral is being rebuilt, is temporarily without a home . However, it is neither abandoned nor forgotten thanks to the fraternal love and fellowship offered by the hierarchy, clergy and communities of the Greek and Russian Orthodox Churches in New York City. Again, this year, Christmas was no exception!

On Christmas Eve, January 6, 2018, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and the goodness of Archimandrite Chrysostomos (Gilbert), together with his parish community at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Manhattan. Here, the New York City Serbian Cathedral Community was able to celebrate Christmas Eve Services, with over 700 faithful gathered in attendance. The Christmas Eve Vigil was celebrated by His Grace Bishop Irinej, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Zivojin Jakovljevic, Cathedral Dean, Protopresbyter Aleksa Micich, Protodeacon Milos Zdralic, Diocesan Financial Secretary, and Deacon Jovan Anicic, Diocesan Education Director.

On Sunday, 14 January 2018, when the Church celebrates the Circumcision of the Lord, Saint Basil the Great and the New Year, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Saint Basil the Great in Marsic with the concelebration of local priests.
