10th Annual Youth Conference to be Held in Washington, D.C.

With the blessings of the Episcopal Council of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America, the Youth Ministry Committe is pleased to annouce the Tenth Annual Youth Conference to be held in Washington D.C. from Wednesday, June 24 through Sunday, June 28, 2015. The theme of this year's conference is "Orthodoxy's Under Attack: How Other Faiths Try to Challenge Your Own!"

Soko Monastery celebrated its Patron Saint-day, feast-day of St. Bishop Nikolaj of Serbia

The pious people from the dioceses of Sabac, Sumadia, Srem, Banat, and from Republic of Srpska and its towns Bratunac and Srebrenica, attended the feast day’s vigil service celebrate by local priests, while Diocesan Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac attended the service.

The Diocese of Middle Europe,  with its head Bishop Sergije and along with its priesthood, monks and lots of believers, celebrated, for the first time, its Patron Saint-Day (slava) – Saint Nikolaj of Zica and Ohrid.

His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa held a sermon on this Serbian saint and paptron saint of the Diocese, and officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops Hrizostom of Zvornik-Tuzla, Atanasije of Bihac-Petrovac, David of Krusevac, Andrej of Austria-Switzerland, Jeronim of Jegar and the host Bishop Sergije, as well as lots of priests and monks from the Fatherland and the Diocese of Middle Europe.

On Sunday of Antipasha, a small parish community in Boise, celebrated its Parish Slava – The Holy Resurrection of Christ. Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace, Bishop Maxim, with concelebrating priests: Archimandrite Nektarios Serfes, presbyter Milan Dragovic, with many people from the Greek Parish and the Church of St Archangel Michael from Salt Lake City.
