Feast of Saint Basil the Great in Cetinje Monastery

On the day when the Church celebrates the Circumcision of the Lord and St. Basil the Great (New Year), His Grace Bishop Kiril of Buenos Aires and South-Central America celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in Cetinje Monastery.
Archpriest-staurophores Gojko Perovic and Obren Jovanovic, archpriests Igor Balaban and Mirceta Sljivančanin, abbot of the monastery of St. Simeon the Myrrh-bearer in Podgorica, Archimandrite Danilo, protosynchellos Justin and Isak from Cetinje monastery, as well as deacons Dusan lekic concelebrated to the Bishop. On that occasion, the Bishop ordained monk Amfilohije to the rank of deacon.
His Grace Bishop Irinej makes a canonical visit to Lackawanna
14. January 2021 - 21:10In the midst of the joy of the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the St. Stephen Serbian Orthodox Church increased its joy through the visit of His Grace Rt. Rev. Irinej, our diocesan bishop.
Accompanying His Grace was Protodeacon Jovan Anicic. His Grace celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the Patronal Feast of our church - St. Stephen, Archdeacon and Protomartyr, on Saturday, January 9, along with parish priest Protonamesnik Vladislav Golic, Protodeacon Jovan, and our parish Deacon Steven Gjurich. Domacini for the Slava were Sinisa and Olja Bogunovic, with their children Leonora and Milos.

January 2021 - 18:04His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija, the administrator of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral church of Holy Archangel Michael in Belgrade on 14 January 2021, on the feast of the Circumcision of the Lord and God and Saviour Jesus Christ and the day when the Church celebrates Saint Basil the Great.
The Bishop was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophors Petar Lukic and Branko Topalovic, presbyters Slavisa Popovic and Arsen Milovanovic, protodeacon Radomir Percevic and Damjan Bozic, deacons Aleksandar Sekulic and Branislav Jocic, as well as hierodeacon Vasilije (Starovlah).

The Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb and Ljubljana and Archbishop of Zagreb Josip Cardinal Bozanic met in the Archdiocese of Zagreb on January 12, 2021. They visited the Zagreb Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Cathedral church of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Both churches, as well as the premises of the Archdiocese and the Diocese of Zagreb-Ljubljana, which are located next to them, were severely damaged in the earthquake of March 22, and additionally in the recent earthquakes that hit Banija.

12. January 2021 - 11:45With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Heruvim in the Diocese of Osijek-Polje and Baranjaa aid has been collected for those endangered by the recent earthquakes that hit the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac.
Material assistance in the form of food and hygiene supplies was loaded on January 8, 2021 in Osijek and Borovo with the effort of parishioners and the competent clergy. On the day of the Holy First Martyr and Archdeacon Stephen, trucks with material assistance arrived for those in need in Petrinja and Glina.
Metropolitan Porfirije: We have been making efforts to help people to settle down

January 2021 - 11:12Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb and Ljubljana received, on the 8jh of January 2011, the aid of the City of Belgrade, which was sent to Petrinja, and informed the news agency Tanjug that it was necessary to support people who had lost their homes in the earthquake with accommodation.
He stated that more prefabricated houses were needed, because a large number of people had been left without homes in the earthquake. - There are many older people. They spend their nights in cars, and not only those whose homes were destroyed, but also those who had a possibility where to sleep, but for fear of recurrences of earthquakes, they do not dare to spend the night in their homes, said Metropolitan Porfirije.
