Special Inter-Orthodox Commission starts its second session

The Special Inter-Orthodox Commission for preparation of a Pan-Orthodox Council started its second session at the Patriarchate of Constantinople’s Orthodox Center in Chambesy near Geneva on 16 February 2015.
The Serbian Orthodox Church is represented by His Eminence Metropolitan Dr. Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and His Grace Bishop Dr. Irinej of Backa. Archpriest Gajo Gajic is also the part of the delegation.The commission established by the Primates of Local Orthodox Churches at their meeting on March 6-9, 2014, in Istanbul, will continue the work to edit draft documents of the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church. The commission started this work at its first session which took place on September 30 – October 3, 2014.
Hierarch of Russian Orthodox Church visits Cambodia

On 13 February 2015, Archbishop Feofilakt of Pyatigorsk and Cherkessk arrived in Cambodia, accompanied by Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), representative of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Kingdom of Thailand, and Mr. Dmitry Petrovsky, a staff member of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Minister of tourism Nikolina Angelkova met with the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte

The Holy Synod will have its representative in the National Council of Tourism. A partnership agreement between the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and the Ministry of Tourism will be prepared and signed at the shortest possible time. This was negotiated at a meeting between the Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova and His Holiness Neophyte. Other participants in the meeting were the Lovchanksi Metropolitan Gavriil, the Varna and the Veliko Turnovo metropolitan Joan, the Nevrokopski metropolitan Seraphim, the Secretary General of the Holy Synod archimandrite Gerasim and the head of the Public Relations department of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church Alexandra Karamihaleva. At this stage the representative of the Holy Synod in the National Council of Tourism will not have the right to vote but can take part and intervene during the meetings. Other interested parties can also take part in the activities of the Council according to its regulations.
Archbishop Jovan of Ohrid officiates feast day's Liturgy at Novodevichy Monastery in St. Petersburg

His Beatitude Jovan, Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy on the feast day of Holy Three Hierarchs at the Novodevichy Monastery in St. Petersburg.
The same day in the evening at the Novodevichy monastery, Archbishop Jovan was visited by Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, who had received the title Doctor Honoris Causa of the Spiritual Academy in St. Petersburg the previous day.

On February 10, the Diplomats’ Day, the Mayor’s office in Choueifat, a suburb southeast of Beirut, held a festive meeting.
Attending the meeting were hegumen Arseniy (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of the Great Antioch and All the East; H. E. Alexander Zasypkin, Ambassador of Russia to Lebanon; staff members of the Embassy of the Russian Federation and of other states; members of the Lebanese Parliament; religious and public figures.
