 In the evening of the Day of the Nativity of Christ, January the 7th, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated Great Vespers at the Cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour in Moscow.

The Feast of Theophany at the Patriarchate of Alexandria

On 6 January 2014, the day on which the Orthodox Church celebrates Holy Theophany, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, officiated at Orthros (Matins) and conducted the festal Divine Liturgy and the Service of the Great Blessing of Waters at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Alexandria, con-celebrating with His Grace Meletios Bishop of Naukratis, Hegumen of the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas in Alexandria.

Solemn celebrations of the Nativity of Christ took place on Mt. Athos

The brethren of the Russian St. Panteleimon’s Monastery on Mt. Athos celebrated the radiant feast of the Nativity of Christ with a solemn Liturgy on the night of January 6/7, reports the Afonit.info portal.

This feast on Holy Mount Athos, “abode of the Mother of God”, is honored with a special love and reverence from the most ancient times.

On Tuesday, January, 06, 2015, His All-Holiness presided over the concelebration of the Divine Liturgy for the Feast of Epiphany and Service of the Great Blessing of the Waters, together with Elder Metropolitan Constantine of Nicea, Metropolitans Joseph of Proikonnisos, Meliton of Philadelphia, Demetrios of Sevasteia, Athenagoras of Kydonies, Maximos of Selyvria and Amphilochios of Adrianopolis.

Proclamation Of the Solemn Year Of The Parish And Monastery Mission at the Romanian Patriarchate

On the first day of the year, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church officially proclaimed the year 2015 as Solemn year of the parish and monastery mission today and as Commemorative year of Saint John Chrysostom and of the great shepherds of souls in the eparchies of the Romanian Patriarchate.
