New Russian bells to be installed at the belfry of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre

On 14 September 2013, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and all Palestine met with hegumen Feofan (Lukianov), acting head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem. The participants in the meeting discussed the installation of seven bells granted by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The bells are planned to be installed at the belfry of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

In Tokyo 75th birthday of the Primate of the Japanese Autonomous Orthodox Church

On the occasion of 75th birthday of Archbishop of Tokyo and Metropolitan of Japan Daniel, which falls on September 5th, with the blessing of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, a delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church with head of the Novospasky stavropegial monastery Bishop Sava of Voskresensk, Vicar of Moscow Diocese, arrived on September 7th in Tokyo.

Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria meets with Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs

On 5th September 2013, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by His Grace Nikodimos Bishop of Nitria, Patriarchal Vicar of Cairo, and His Grace Niphon, Hegumen of the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St George, welcomed to the historic Monastery of Old Cairo His Excellency the  Deputy Prime Minister of the Greek Government and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Eleftherios Venizelos, who is in the Egytpian capital for a series of contacts with the political leaders of the country at a particularly sensitive juncture, both at a local level due to the country’s transition to constitutional stability, as well as at a regional level due to the impending military intervention in Syria.

On 8 September 2013, the feast day of the Meeting of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia officiated at he Divine Liturgy in the square before the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ in Chişinău.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill meets with Mr. Nicolae Timofti, President of Moldova

On 7 September 2013, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and Russia, who is on a primatial visit to the Orthodox Church of Moldova, met with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Nicolae Timofti.

They were joined at the meeting by Metropolitan Vladimir of Chişinău and All Moldova; Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations; Bishop Sergiy of Solnechnogorsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Administrative Secretariat; Archpriest Vsevolod Chaplin, chairman of the Department for Church-Society Relations; and Mr. Farit Mukhametshin, Russia’s Ambassador to Moldova.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill to visit Orthodox Church of Moldova on 7-9 September

On 7-9 September 2013, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will visit the Orthodox Church of Moldova. The visit of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church is timed to the bicentenary of the establishment of the Metropolis of Chișinău and All Moldova.

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill will visit the Căpriana Monastery of the Dormition of the Mother of God where he will say a litiya for the repose of the soul of Metropolitan Gavriil (Bănulescu-Bodoni) and then meet with hierarchs of the Orthodox Church of Moldova. In Chișinău, a solemn ceremony commemorating the bicentenary of the establishment of the Metropolis of Chișinău and All Moldova will be held at the Nicolae Sulac National Palace.
