Hierarchal Liturgy and ordination in Cetinje Monastery

His Grace Bishop Joanikije of Budimye-Niksic and the Administrator of Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral and Their Graces Bishops Jovan of Slavonia and Kirilo of Buenos Aires and South America celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cetinje Monastery on 2 January 2021. 

During the Liturgy Bishop Joanikije ordained hieromonk of Cetinje Monastery Justin (Mraovic) a protosynchelos; priests of Cetinje Igor Balaban and Andjelko Boricic with Obren Jovanovic, closest associates of Metropolitan Amfilohije, with the rank of archpriest; while he ordained Mr. Krsto Plamenac, graduate of the Faculty of Theology, with the rank of  deacon. 

Collecting aid for earthquake victims

The Metropolitanate of Zagreb-Ljubljana calls upon all people of goodwill, who want and can,  to help the victims of the earthquakes that stroke the Croatian cities of Petrinja, Sisak and Glina on December 28 and 29. Donations can be paid to the following account:

Patron Saint-day of Holy deacons Avakum and abbot Pajsije

His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadia and the administrator of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Holy martyrs deacon Avakum and abbot Pajsije in Zemun's neighborhood of Altina on 30 December 2020.

In the prayerful presence of the host of the church slava, the family of Kricka, and many faithful people, His Grace was concelebrated by diocesan dean protopresbyter-staurophor Boza Bakajlic, archpriest Nebojsa Topolic, presbyters Boris Savic and Andjelko Doder, protodeacons Stevan Rapajic and Ivan Gasic and deacon Miroslav Mitrovic.

In the earthquake, the Serbian church in Banija was completely destroyed

In the earthquake that hit Croatia on December 29, 2020, the Church of the Ascension of the Lord in Majske Poljane in Banija was completely destroyed.

The church, popularly known as Mlada Nedjelja, was built in 1820. This year, the parish of Glina marked two centuries of existence of that holy church.

On Sunday of Holy Forefathers, 27 December 2020, on Serbian Mother's Day, His Eminence Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia, the Locum Tenens of the Throne of Serbian Patriarchs, for the first time after leaving the hospital and recovery from coronavirus infection, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy and held a seromn in the church of Basil of Ostrog in Veljine, East Sarajevo.

Earthquake damaged Serbian churches in Sisak and Petrinja

 The earthquake that hit Croatia on December 29, 2020, severely damaged Serbian Orthodox churches and parish houses in Petrinja and Sisak (phоto gallery).

- The damage to the church of St. Petka and the parish house in Sisak is such that worship services and life in them are permanently disabled. Also, the church of St. Spyridon as well as the magnificent building of the parish house in Petrinja were so damaged that they were put out of function. Priests from Sisak and Petrinja and their families were forced to leave their homes, priest Veselin Ristic, a parish priest from Sisak, told this to the Information Service of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
