Youngwood Parish Celebrates 102 Years

Holy Ascension of Our Lord Serbian Orthodox Church in Youngwood, Pennsylvania, joyously celebrated its 102nd Krsna Slava on June 1, 2014. Rev. Father Milan Medakovic served the Divine Liturgy and Slava Litija to a packed church, and afterward remarked about the warmth and family atmosphere that prevailed through the services and the banquet that followed in the social hall.
Stevan and Kimberly Cheran who were married here in November of 2011 served as honored Kumovi. Stevan is the son of Steve and Rosemarie Cheran of Monoreville and the grandson of +Steve and +Lilian Cheran of Youngwood. Stevan has a long history with our church since his father was raised here and his grandparents brought him here to services since his earliest recollection. Kimberly is the daughter of Ronald and Audrey Gratzinger of Scottdale, Pennsylvania, and accepted Orthodoxy in 2007. Our entire parish wishes Stevan and Kimberly many blessings and many years!
100 years of Faith and Tradition

St. Elijah, Aliquippa, PA will be commemorating 100 years of Faith and Tradition, August 2 & 3, 2014. Activities will begin with a reception and picnic, and commence with a Grand Banquet the following evening.
Serbian Festival in Columbus

Columbus,OH - This year our traditional Serbfest will be on SATURDAY JULY 26, 2014. As in the past years we will have a great variety of delicious ethnic food: spit-roasted lambs, chevaps, sarma (stuffed sauerkraut cabbage rolls), gibanica, Serbian pastries and much, much more! The Feast of Pentecost in Butte, Montana

On June 8th, the glorious Feast of Pentecost was once again celebrated by the Church of the Holy Trinity in Butte, Montana. Parishioners and clergy of the parish were duly blessed on the occasion by the presence of their beloved hierarch, his Grace, Bishop Maxim, who presided over the Feast.
His Grace arrived late Friday evening and was received as the honored guest at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. David Hicks. During his stay, Bishop Maxim was able to discuss with his hosts and Fr. Russell ideas concerning the future of Orthodox Christianity across the state of Montana and review plans for the much-hoped-for establishment of a monastic community there on the Hickʼs property.
Patron Saint-day of the Military Medical Academy

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the sidechapel of Saint Luke of Simferopol at the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade. The clergy of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac concelebrated to the Patriarch.
The director of the Military Medical Academy (MMA) along with doctors, the staff and the faithful people from different parts of Serbia and Belgrade, as well as patients of this hospital, attended the Holy Liturgy.
