Remembrance day on the bombing of the National Library of Serbia

April 2013 - 15:00Many Belgraders with books in their hands gathered on April 6th, 2013 at Kosancicev Venac, when the National Library of Serbia was completely destroyed and burnt in Nazi bombing 72 years ago. Besides Minister of Culture and Information Mr. Bratislav Petkovic, at the site there were His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, the head of the Lubrary of the Serbian Patriarchate Mr. Zoran Nedeljkovic, head of the National Library of Serbia Mr. Dejan Ristic, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, foreign cultural centers and cultural institutions.

8. April 2013 - 13:57His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received on April 4, 2013 at the Serbian Patriarchate Mr. Dragan Djilas, the mayor of the capital of Serbia. The meeting was attended by His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, the head of the Administration Office of the Patriarchate protopresbyter-stavrophor Stojadin Pavlovic, adviser to mayor Mr. Mladjan Djordjevic, legal adviset in Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovci Mr. Bogoljub Cvetinovic, and Mr. Slobodan Gavrilovic.
Bishop Mitrophan Blesses Cornerstone of New Church in Miami

April 2013 - 11:35On Saturday evening, March 16th, His Grace Bishop Dr. Mitrophan was greeted at the airport by St. Simeon Orthodox Church parish priest Protojerej Svetozar Veselinovich, along with Protojerej-stavrophor Lazar Kostur and St. Simeon executive church board president Mr. Predrag Vaskrsic. At the St.Simeon Church hall, the Bishop was welcomed with bread, salt and flowers, followed by a most cordial small reception. This afforded those present the opportunity to pose some questions regarding our Holy Orthodox Faith, which His Grace Bishop Dr. Mitrophan eloquently answered.
