Metropolitan Hilarion visits Russian Church and Ruzica church

His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, the chairman of the Department of External Church Relations visited yesterday on April 1, 2011 accompanied by protopresbyter Vitaly Tarasyev, the head of the Podvorye of the Moscow Patriarchate in Belgrade, the Russian Holy Trinity church at Tasmajdan. Also His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion visited the Ruzica church at Kalemegdan.

Metropolitan Hilarion visits St. Sava Cathedral on Vracar

His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfeyev) of Volokolamsk, the President of teh Office for foreign church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, visited yesterday on March 31, 2011 accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral St. Sava Memorial Cathedral on Vracar.  

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin awarded the Serbian Orthodox Church’s highest distinction

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch handed Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation last night in the St. Sava Memorial Cathedral on Vrachar the St. Sava Order of the First Degree.

This solemn act was attended by: Mr. Mirko Cvetkovic, President of the Government of the Republic of Serbia; His Grace Bishop Dr Irinej of Backa, member of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the SOC; Their Graces Bishops - Georgije of Canada, Atanasije of Hvosno and Porfirije of Jegar; Mr. Alexandar Konuzin, Ambassador of the Russian Federation; Crown Prince Alexander Karageorgevich; protopresbyter-staurophor Vitaly Tarasyev, head of the Podvorye of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade; as well as Mr. Vojislav Milovanovic, proto builder of the St. Sava Cathedral on Vrachar.  

St. Petersburg Christian Education Deanery Meeting

The Fourth St. Petersburg Christian Education Deanery Meeting of the Eastern American Diocese was scheduled by His Grace Bishop Dr. MITROPHAN at the Sts. Peter and Paul Serbian Orthodox Church of Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, March 19, 2011. Previous meetings were in Jacksonville, Orlando and St. Petersburg, Florida. This meeting was scheduled in conjunction with Clergy Confession. Parishes in the Deanery are many miles apart. Extensive traveling is necessary for the participants.

Lenten Vespers at Akron parish

The St. Archangel Micheal Serbian Orthodox Church in Akron hosted the second group in the Cleveland Deanery for Lenten Vespers on the second Sunday of Great Lent, the Sunday of St. Gregory Palamas.
