1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia

On March 4, 2013 at the Patriarchal and Synodic residence at St. Daniel Monastery in Moscow, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill received Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil ,the administrator of the Department for External-Church Relations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and Mr. Sergey Levochkin, head of the Russian Presidential Administration.

During the meeting the preparations for the joint celebration of the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia were mostly discussed. They agreed that the jubilee should have, according to Patriarch Kirill’s words “…church and national character and also be imbued with the whole history of Russia”.

The meeting was also attended by Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External-Church Relations and Archpriest Nikolai Balashov,DECR vice-chairman.
