125 years of the St. Sava Society

With a blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch on yesterday's celebration in the National Theatre in Belgrade on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Society of St. Sava , His Grace Vicar Bishop Andrej of Remesiana presented the order of St. Sava to this society of patriots and entepreneurs for successful and prosperous Serbia.

On this celebration the present reminded of all the members of this society from XIX and XX century, of whom many became an inspiration for today's generations in the Homeland: president of the Government of the Kingdom of Serbia, mayor of Belgrade and professor of the Belgrade Higher School Svetomir Nikolajevic, minister Mihailo Vujic, Cedomir Mijatovic, Milan Pirocanac, Milutin Garasanin, diplomat Acim Cumic, radical leader Lazar Pachu, benefactors Luka Celovic and Milorac Godjevac, industrialist Georg Weifert, trader Nikola Spasic, poet Stevan Vladislav Kacanski, academician Milan Dj.Milicevic, Ljubomir Kovacevic and Panta Sreckovic, publisher Kosta Sumenkovic, diplomat Milojko Veselinovic, historian Milos Milivojevic and Jovan Haji-Vasiljevic, protosyngellos Firmilijan...
