On the celebration regarding 40 years since the enthronement of  His Holiness Patriarch Maksim of Bulgaria, the Serbian Orthodox Church was represented by His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje kyr kyr Jovan.

On the eve of the feast day on July 2, 2011, the vesper service was served in the Patriarchate church of St. Alexander Nevski in Sofia. The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy on July 3, 2011 in the same church was served by His Holiness Patriarch Maksim of Bulgaria. 
 
At the celebrations were present all delegations of the Orthodox Church, except Antiochian and Romanian Orthodox church. 
 
During a solemn lunch Archbishop Jovan conveyed the greetings of His Holiness Patriarch Maksim of Bulgaria.
 
The program of celebration consisted of visits of delegations of sisterly Orthodox Churches to President of Bulgaria Mr. Georgi Prvanov, Prime Minister Mr. Bojko Borisov and President of the National Assembly Mrs. Cecka Cacheva.
