750 school bags and supplies offered by the Archdiocese of Roman and Bacău at the beginning of the school year
At the beginning of the school year, 15 September 2016, the Archdiocese of Roman and Bacău offered 5,300 packages of school supplies and sweets, and 750 school bags and supplies to several students coming from financially fragile families, but also to students with good school results from Bacău, Roman, Moineşti, Oneşti, Sascut and Buhuşi.
The Archdiocese allocated 80,000 lei (18,000 Euro) for this project entitled Let the children come unto me and do not hinder them. In addition, a total financial aid of 17,800 lei (4,000 Euro) was offered to nearly 200 industrious students with good grades.
This involvement of the Church in helping students and supporting their education is a result of social surveys conducted for four years by parish priests of the Archdiocese, on the proposal of His Eminence Archbishop Ioachim.
